This Privacy Policy describes how PrinterFairy ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you purchase an item from printerfairy.com (the "Site"), contact us, or otherwise use our services.

This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, such as Shopify, Corjl, Klaviyo, or your payment processing provider. You should review the privacy policies of these third parties to understand their practices.

1. Information We Collect

To fulfill your order and provide our services, you provide us with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal address, and the details of the product you are ordering. When you sign up for our newsletter, you provide us with your email address.

We also collect certain information automatically when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, time zone, and cookie information ("Device Information").

2. Why We Need Your Information and How We Use It (Legal Bases)

We rely on several legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

  • To provide our services: We use your information to fulfill your order, provide customer support, and settle disputes.

  • With your explicit consent: You may provide your affirmative consent (which you can revoke at any time) for specific purposes, such as signing up for our mailing list.

  • To comply with legal obligations: We may need to retain your information to comply with a court order, legal claim, or tax laws.

  • For our legitimate interests: We use your information for our legitimate interests, provided they are not overridden by your rights. This includes:

    • Providing and improving our services.

    • Complying with our obligations under the Shopify Policy and Terms of Use.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We value your privacy and share your personal information only in very limited circumstances:

  • Shopify: We share information with Shopify as necessary to provide you with our services and comply with our obligations under Shopify's policies.

  • Service Providers: We engage trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to our shop, such as Corjl (for product personalization) and Klaviyo (for marketing communications). We will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.

  • Business Transfers: If we sell or merge our business, we may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.

  • Compliance with Laws: We may collect, use, retain, and share your information if we have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to respond to legal process, government requests, or to prevent fraud and other illegal activity.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and as described in this policy. Generally, we keep order information for tax and legal purposes. For newsletter subscriptions, we retain your data until you withdraw your consent (unsubscribe).

5. International Data Transfers

We may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. This means your personal information may be transferred to a jurisdiction with different data protection laws than your own. If we transfer information outside of the EU, we rely on legally-provided mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data is protected.

6. Your Rights

If you reside in the EU, you have certain rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access: You have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

  • Change, Restrict, Delete: You have the right to change, restrict our use of, or delete your personal information. Except for exceptional circumstances (like legal requirements), we will generally delete your personal information upon request.

  • Object: You can object to our processing of your information based on our legitimate interests and to receiving marketing messages. In such cases, we will delete your information unless we have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using it.
